Utrecht's city wood by noest

Beautiful products made from real Utrecht wood: the Utrecht company has been working the road to success in recent years. During his work as a volunteer at the Tafelboom Wood Workshop in Utrecht, the founder Tom van Straaten first came into contact with city wood. This inspired him to get to work himself and make wood products with a special story. He started this in his own barn, now Tom has been working in a workshop with other people with a sole proprietorship for a few years: they share the machines, offer each other support and spar together: they are colleagues.

What started with cutting boards for friends has grown into a wide range of products. Noest is known for wooden key chains in the shape of the Dom but also makes furniture pieces, clocks and cufflinks. All this made with wood from city trees that had to be cut down and thus given a second life. On each piece of wood it says which tree the wood comes from and where the tree stood in Utrecht.

Tom likes the idea that there are Utrechters walking around the city with pieces of Utrecht's city wood on their key forest. ''The key chains have made what it is today.'' Are you also here to pick out a piece of city tree in the tourist office?
