Ceramics from Utrecht soil by the EchtWaar foundation

The EchtWaar Foundation is a workshop in Utrecht where people with an occupational disability make products from ceramics and textiles. The workshop is led by Loes van der Heijden and Irma Heijnsdijk. After the ceramics studio where they worked together closed its doors, they took matters into their own hands. At the beginning of 2015, they set up Stichting EchtWaar together, with the aim of offering a safe working environment where people with an occupational disability can develop themselves. EchtWaar has now been making unique handmade products from ceramics and textiles for over four years, using recyclable materials.

realWhere is based on what people can and want to learn. Everyone chooses what work they want to do: on the sewing machine, ceramics, weaving or a combination of everything. Making a product consists of many partial actions, so that all people can be part of the process. EchtWaar also likes to work with other Utrecht entrepreneurs. For example, they make drink cups for the likorettes of Rondje Utrecht and saucers for under the Dom tower candles of candle workshop Snellies. In the VVV shop you will find, among other things, beautiful ceramic cups with a signed Dom on it. A great place for realWaar to show their products not only to Utrecht residents but also international visitors!

The products of the EchtWaar foundation are available in our webshop and in the shop of theTourist Information Center (VVV)at Domplein 9.
